The Telecommunications Infrastructure Fund Board (TIFB) has funded 3 projects at Falls City ISD. The first established our high speed network with direct internet connectivity. The second brought interactive dual credit courses to high school juniors and seniors. The third brought 2 new multimedia/internet capable computers to each elementary teacher’s classroom, created 2 interactive video conference carts to take students on virtual interactive field trips, provided each elementary teacher with a scanner, and in combination with an Intel Teach to the Future Grant trained the elementary teachers to integrate technology more fully into their everyday curriculum. This web site demonstrates the active use of new teaching methods, skills, and newly acquired technology; it is a result of the collaborative efforts of the elementary staff and students fully utilizing funding generously provided by the TIF Board and Intel.
Teachers, parents, and students will begin taking advantage of Video Conference educational opportunities with the debut of the first Region 3 Net3 Video Conference at Falls City ISD in the Library on Nov.12, 2002 at 6pm. More will follow… This is a technology tool we hope to integrate as a virtual field trip implementation tool as well……. |
