I am beginning my  18th year of teaching.   I graduated from Falls City High School and Southwest Texas State University (which is now known as Texas State University).  For 8 years, I taught 3rd grade at Floresville Elementary.   Then, I was excited to take a teaching job in my hometown. This will be my 10th year in Falls City.  I have taught 1st-

6th grades.  This will be my second year to teach English to 4th,5th, and 6th grades and a P.E. class.   I am looking forward to a very successful and rewarding year.  Luther Thomas Elementary is a great place to teach and learn.

                   Words about Writing

This year, the 4th, 5th, and 6th graders will be selecting and using different forms of writing for specific purposes such as to inform, persuade, or entertain.  We will be writing drafts, revising writing to improve it, and editing final drafts to produce final products.  We will learn ways to improve our writing based on  grammar and usage, spelling, punctuation, and other conventions of written language.

It has been proven that reading and writing are each enhanced when they are taught and learned together.  Mrs. Ehlers and I are excited to be planning  together again this year.
